Does QuickBooks only print 1099 form, Copy A? How can we order Copy B?
Anyone know what's happening with 1099 forms for 2017? Our office is part of a larger accounting practice. The other office uses software that prints the 1099 Copy 1, Copy B, etc. using blank paper. The software that our office uses only prints on pre-printed forms.
In the past, we have always gotten the 1099-Misc, Copy B forms from Forms CS - their item #5111. Today, when we went online to order the forms, they're nowhere to be found. A phone call to Forms CS came up with an answer that Quickbooks has changed how the forms print and pre-printed forms aren't required (other than for copy A).
Since our software doesn't show how 2017 1099s will look or how they will print, and since Dec. 18 is the deadline for ordering the forms we need - does ANYBODY have any idea what the Forms CS guy was telling us? We need to order 1099-Misc, Copy B, 4 packs of 50 each of the 2-up sheets. Either that, or we need to know for absolutely certain that Quickbooks AND Quickbooks Online will allow us to print every copy of the 1099 (except the red ones) on blank paper.
