You can run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to resolve the issue you're having when trying to prepare your payroll reports in PDF. 

Here's how to run the tool:

1. Close QuickBooks.
2. Use or update to the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
3. Follow the on-screen steps to install.
4. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
5. Click on QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. 
6. Try to print, email, or save as a PDF from QuickBooks Desktop again.
