The possible reason you are receiving the message that the license or product code is incorrect is that the software installed on the new computer is not the same version as the one on the old computer.
As Chrea pointed out, older versions like QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2012 are no longer available in Canada. The oldest version of QuickBooks Desktop Pro available in Canada is the 2016 edition.

On the other hand, you can sign in to your Customer Account Management Portal to verify the correct product or license code.
If you upgrade to a newer version of QuickBooks Desktop in the future, you will also need to update your company files to be compatible with the newer version of QuickBooks Desktop.
