Learn how to remove your accountant in QuickBooks Online.
With access to your company, your accountant can review your books, make corrections, and collaborate on any issues.
Add an accountant as a user
- Go to Settings ⚙, then select Manage users.
- Select Add user, then Company admin.
- Select This user is my accountant.
- Select Next.
- Enter your accountant’s name and email, then Save.
Note: You can only have one accountant user. The user doesn’t count toward your user limit.
What does this mean to you?
Accountant users have additional privileges that allow them to undo entire reconciliations, reclassify transactions and write off invoices.
Remove an accountant
If you no longer want your accountant to access to your books, remove them:
- Go to Settings ⚙, then select Manage users.
- Find the accountant you want to remove.
- From the Action▼ dropdown, select Delete.
- Select Delete to confirm.
