Before we proceed, could you please tell me which version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) you are using?
To upgrade your QBDT to the newest version, the steps are outlined below. Please know that when a new version of QuickBooks is released, you'll receive a notification when you open the software.
- When you’re ready, tap Upgrade Now.
- If you wish to keep your current version of QuickBooks, select Keep old version on my computer
- Select Keep old version on my computer if you want to keep your current QuickBooks. Click Let’s go. QuickBooks downloads, installs, and activates the new version for you. It updates your company file(s).
- Once the upgrade is complete, select Open QuickBooks to get started with the updated version.

However, if you are using QBDT France region, you'll want to consider looking for a third-party app to make it compatible with the US region
