Intuit's internal browser for QuickBooks is up-to-date with the latest critical security updates and will continue to be updated as necessary. It isn't based on any third-party web browsers and is fully custom.
Here's some of the browser's technical specifications:
- HTTP end-points are blocked due to security reasons.
- Accessing QuickBooks data with ActiveX is allowed only with user consent.
- If an SSL certificate expires, the page isn't blocked from loading. Instead, an unlock message signals expiration and can continue to load it.
