I know it's hard being unable to save the portable file, Pam1964.
Let me make it up to you by ensuring this gets resolved.
Missing portable files when saving them to a folder or a flash drive can be caused by data issues.
To rectify this, let's run the Verify and Rebuild Data utility. The tool scan data issues and self-resolves them. I'll show you how.
To verify data:
- On the top menu, click File.
- Choose Utilities.
- Select Verify Data.
- Click OK when QuickBooks doesn't detect any problem.
- If Verify finds an issue with your data, you'll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
- Click Close or View Errors and take note of the specific error message.
To rebuild data:
- On the top menu, click on File.
- Choose Utilities.
- Select Rebuild Data.
- Click OK if you receive a prompt to back up your company file.
- Click OK when the rebuild has been completed, and proceed to the next step.
- Run Rebuild Data again to make sure there's no error.
If the issue persists, let's use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix company file issues in the program.
