- Press and hold the Ctrl key while double-clicking your QuickBooks icon. Note that the No Company Open window needs to pop-up before you release the Ctrl button.

If the program starts, you’ll need to verify if only one computer is using your company file. To turn off hosting in other computers, here’s how:
- From the menu bar, click on File, and select Utilities.
- Select Stop hosting multi-user access.

- On the menu bar, click on File, and select Open or restore company.
- Select the appropriate button for the file type you want to open.
- Locate the company file.
- Click on Open to view company file.
