I appreciate you taking the time to perform the steps provided by my colleague above, @Víctor. Rest assured that I'm here to ensure you'll get to migrate your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) files from one computer to another.

Since the Migrator Tool didn't work on your end, I recommend manually moving or reinstalling QuickBooks. Let me walk you through the steps for a seamless process:

Reinstall or move your QuickBooks Desktop installation

  1. Have your product and license info available.
  2. Uninstall the existing QuickBooks application before trying a reinstall.
  3. On the computer where you want QuickBooks Desktop installed, download the installation files or insert the CD.
  4. Install QuickBooks Desktop as you normally would.

After the installation to another computer, you'll need to register your QuickBooks again. Here's how:

  1. Go to Help and select Register QuickBooks to start the process.
  2. After you enter your info, Intuit detects the registration status of your copy of QuickBooks and records the info for the new computer.

You can then restore the backup file using the USB that contains the data.
