There isn't really such a thing as a lifetime license.
At any rate, it depends on which version year you have. Even the standalone products are only supported for three years. After that, the subscription does not apply to them.
For instance, Desktop 2022 will be sunsetted on 5/31/2025; no more payroll subscription, no more direct deposit, no more QB support.
