For new customers or accounts less than 90 days old, you can purge your data and start over. For accounts older than 90 days, you'll need to create a new company.
Before getting started, please take note of the following:
- Ensure that you are logged in as an admin.
- This process will only delete data for one specific company.
- If you want to reuse your existing lists after starting anew, please refer to our guide on transferring your lists to a new company.
- If you are using QuickBooks Online Accountant, please do not follow these steps.
To keep specific data, you'll need to manually transfer it. We recommend exporting your data first.
Here's how:
- Move the Gear icon and select Export data.
- On the Reports tab, set the date range.
- Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the switch on or off.
- Select Export to Excel.
