May I ask if you are referring to your Vendor Tax ID? If so, we can generate the Vendor Contact List report and customize it to show your vendor information, Nubar. Allow me to show you how: 

1. Go to the Reports menu on the left sidebar.
2. Use the search bar to find the Vendor Contact List report.
3. Click on the Vendor Contact List report to open it.
4. Hover to the Columns, then choose More Columns.
5. Scroll down, then click Show More.
   
6. Locate the Tax ID or use the search bar to see it.
7. Tick the Tax ID check box.
   
8. Select any columns you want to include in your report or check out this article to learn how to customize your report further: Customize your reports with a modern view.

On top of that, you might want to print or export this report to Excel for further analysis or record-keeping.

QBO advanced backups seem to have lists that include a vendor ID list but no corresponding vendor name.  I am looking for a list that shows the name and its ID not its tax ID.

Thanks for clearing up your goal about acquiring vendor IDs together with their names, Nubar. I'd like to know if you add this information as a custom field. If so, I'll share how you can display it in the report.

By following the steps my colleague provided above, let's go to the More Columns section and scroll down your mouse to the Custom Fields options. Then, tick the Vendor ID box to show this on the report page together with the other information.
