Data integrity after "We couldn't fix some of your errors"
We went to back up our data (local backup) and got a message that there was a data error, and the file needed to be rebuilt. I okayed that process, and got a message that "We couldn't fix some of your errors, but don't worry. We can help. Please contact support for assistance" Well, it's a Saturday, so that's a non-starter (right now).
The error that couldn't be fixed
"Error at line 9755"
!Link Error Code: (00800(HEX),DEP-PMT, linkRecNum=848588, sibling = 848589, sibling = 848589, key (m1) = 848578, tOne = 848579, mTwo = 848583, tTwo = 848585
There were also two errors that were "fixed".
After the "fix" I did another local backup, with no issue.
I have three questions:
1. Since it went through a subsequent back-up; with no apparent issue, should I be concerned about the error that couldn't be fixed?
2 Will a conversion from Desktop to Online versions of QB be hindered by the "fixes" that the program did, and the fix it wasn't able to complete?
3. Is there somewhere in our company data where information about successful and unsuccessful "fixes" are documented and preserved? Sort of like an audit trail of fixes...
Thank you in advance.

Hi Leonard, thank you for clearly explaining your situation. Let me address each of your concerns so we can help you maintain your QuickBooks data moving forward.
For your first question, even though the later backup completed successfully, it’s still a good idea to be cautious. A successful backup confirms that QuickBooks was able to copy the file, but it doesn’t guarantee that every underlying data issue has resolved.
An unrepaired data integrity error indicates that a portion of the company file remains uncorrected and may affect certain links or transactions, potentially leading to errors or discrepancies in reporting over time.
Contacting our live support team is the appropriate next step to address this issue. Since it is currently the weekend and support is unavailable, I recommend utilizing our QuickBooks Rebuild Data and File Doctor tools in the meantime to repair your company file. For guidance, you can refer to Solutions 1 and 2 in this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
On your second question, yes, unresolved data errors can interfere with a conversion from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Before you start any migration, it’s essential to confirm that your Desktop file is as clean and error‑free as possible.
Lastly, regarding your third question, QuickBooks Desktop does not provide a direct, user-facing “audit trail” or detailed log specifically for successful and unsuccessful database repair attempts. The system generates technical debugging files in the background, but these are not designed as a clear, accessible history of each fix for end users.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or need clarification. I'm here to help.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, "Quickbooks File Doctor" doesn't do what it says it will do. I followed directions EXACTLY as stated in the article you referenced and Quickbooks File Doctor did not behave as the article said it would. Specifically, clicking on "Run QuickBooks File Doctor" from the Quickbooks Tool Hub did ZERO. File Doctor did not run.
Next suggestion? Call and get somebody in Manila?

Install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise, upgrade your company file and run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Did you encounter the same problem?

So...if I now went to the Utilities menu, ran "Verify Data" and go a result that said "QuickBooks detected no problems with your data" am I safe to continue in my conversion to Online?

Yes. You can start converting data to QBO. Keep in mind, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good if required.
