To isolate this, we can reconcile using a sample file. If QBDT didn't lock up, let's run the rebuild and verify data utilities. These tools clean, repair, and notify you of data damage within the file.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2.  Choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Follow the pop-up window to save a backup.
  5. Click OK when you see Rebuild has completed.

Once done, you can proceed with verifying the data:

  1. Click on File.
  2. Select on Utilities.
  3. Click on Verify Data.
  4. If you see QuickBooks detected no problem with your data, select OK. You may continue using your company file.

Once done, try reconciling again to double-check.
