Let me step in and assist you on how to convert your company file on your QuickBooks Desktop 2004 version to QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks Desktop 2004 is no longer supported. This is why it doesn't have the option to export data to the online version. However, you can look for an online download outside QuickBooks to export your company file.
You're unable to directly upgrade from QuickBooks 2004 to QuickBooks 2018, 2019, and 2020. It might cause a feature or company file damage. You'll need to upgrade your company file in 3 years gap version at a time.
Once you upgrade your company file to a supported version, you can use the QuickBooks Desktop 2020 Trial version for migration. You can use this article for the steps: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
