Learn how to track and manage your team’s time in QuickBooks Time web.
Note: You can also track and manage time in QuickBooks Online, or enter time for your crew in QuickBooks Workforce.
Enter team member hours using:
Time Entries > Timesheets
- Go to Time Entries > Timesheets > Add Time. The Timesheet Editor displays.
- Enter the team member's name.
- If the team member is still working, check the Currently working box.
- Enter the dates and times, and select Save. The new timesheet displays at the top of Timesheets.
Manual Time Card
- Go to Time Entries > Manual Time Card.
- Select the date range.
- If you are entering hours worked for someone else, at the top right, select Switch User, and enter a name.
- If you track time against a job or customer, select (no job) or (no customer), and select from the list.
- Select inside the cell to enter the number of hours worked. (For example, to enter 8 1/2 hours, type 8.5 or 8:30.)
- If you'd like to, in the Notes box below, enter your notes for that day.
- Continue adding hours and notes to each day.
- Before proceeding to a new week, select Save.
Time Slider
The Timesheet Editor displays.
- Go to Time Entries > Time Slider tab.
- Below Timezone, enter the team member's name, and select Add User.
- At the top right, select the date the team member worked.
- Select the clock-in time, hold and drag the bar to the clock-out time, and release.
- If necessary, adjust the displayed clock-in and clock-out times, and fill in the required fields.
- If the team member is still working, select Currently working.
- Select Save. The new timesheet displays at the top of Timesheets.
Who's Working
The timesheet editor displays.
- From the Who's Working window, select an team member.
- If necessary, adjust the displayed clock-in and clock-out times, and fill in the required fields.
- If the team member is still working, select Currently working.
- Select Save. The new timesheet displays at the top of Timesheets.
