Nobody has time to call CRA this year! I don't know what happened to their callback service, but I know I never got it.
Thanks for this information that it is not just Profile!
We were able to push all of ours through, have had error since 3:30pm but if we kept pushing Efile in the individual files, they eventually processed. Try individual efile and not batch if you can.
I just tried to efile individual files, but no success:
Unable to get response from the Government Agency. Please try again later
CRA T1 EFILE service failed at returnCode=500
Just keep hitting the eFile button over and over. Takes a number of tries but I've gotten a couple through that way. Thanks to the previous people who suggested it!
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
Apparently the error is related to a high volume of returns being filed. At this time some returns are being accepted when filed. Since the issue is high volume the suggestion is to keep trying to file returns but not in large batches. Give some time between attempts as frequent attempts does just increases volume.
I apologize for the inconvenience but hope this helps
I apologize for the inconvenience but hope this helps
Same here in Northern BC since 9:30am. Finally got through to EFILE help desk and was told it is a Profile problem and they are trying to fix. Also told that CRA and Profile were on a conference call and to call back before 8 pacific time to see what will happen. She did say there may be an extension for us Profile users till Monday if problem is not resolved.
lol I have tried 10 to 20 times and no luck.
I've been continuously e-filing batch after batch for the past 50 minutes. Still 10 files remain. Well, it' only 21:22 here, over 2 hours and 30 minutes till the tax deadline!
mayday mayday
Keep hitting eFile over and over - annoying but eventually it works!
I don’t know whose fault it is, but the CRA should have extended the deadline by even a week or so.
Some years ago each year e-filer got an email from the CRA on April 30 saying that returns transmitted within 5 days after the tax deadline would be deemed to be received on time. And we did not have to deal with COVID and lockdowns then!
what are we supposed to tell clients who owe? It's hit and miss right now, we are finally able to file a few but most not going thru.
The solution for now is to try many times until it is accepted
I'm in Ontario. It's happening here as well. Apparently it is on Profile end and CRA and Profile trying to resolve the issue. What I did is I printed the Efile session so that it shows a time and date with a Transaction ID.
Was it a CRA issue? No communications from CRA, no email from the Efile -TED. This was the worst year in terms of getting support. Thank God its May 1st, National Day of getting a good night sleep.
HI. I just wanted to add my rant as well. I gave up e-filing yesterday with 25 more tax returns to transmit before midnight. I kept getting that message from about mid-afternoon until 9 pm when I gave up. I reached out to some of my accountant friends and they did not have the problem, but I still thought for sure it was a CRA problem. I am shocked this morning to learn it is an INTUIT problem. As so many users have already responded... this is UNACCEPTABLE. We pay a lot to use this software package and CANNOT have this happening on the last day of the tax season. I will be demanding a return of my money and will certainly look at alternative applications to use next year.
We got our last one through at 10:30pm last night. By that time we were prioritizing and trying to send only the ones that owed money. Worse tax season ever!!
I loved this one "National Day of Good Sleep" LOL
Totally agree Shelby - worst tax season ever!
i spoke with efile support on April 30th and they advised it was a Profile issue.
There is nothing to say it was a CRA issue. What is Intuit doing to compensate its customers for the incredible inconvenience at the worst possible time? I need a software I can rely on and support I can contact when I need help- it was the tax deadline? Not acceptable
i had the same problem. i called my efile help desk and they told me that the cra servers were overloaded. i kept trying and finally got through at 11:45 p m cra needs to update their servers to be able to handle all the returns or extend the deadline each year!! what a joke! good old cra.
Actually, from everything I've read, it turned out to NOT be a CRA problem this time - it was an Intuit problem!
Would be nice to hear from Intuit directly on this issue to give us some clarity on what happened.
it is like always the government doesn't want to accept responsibility. it looks like it was cra's fault. almost always is. like i said good old cra. will never change. i honestly don't think it was intuit's fault. but that is only my opinion. you can reach your own. i am not here to tell anyone who is to blame. i just hope it doesn't happen next year but i bet it does!! we just have to keep working or trying to! hope you all had a good season. try to have a good and safe summer. let's hope things change next year for sure both ways!
