Good morning,
I have a client who arrived to Canada on July 2024. I filled the income tax but the Profile Software is generating the following menssage:
2040: Line 30000 for the basic personal amount does not equal to the maximum amount allowable and one of the following situations applies to your client's return:
1. If the amount is prorated due to immigrant status, a date of entry into Canada is required.
2. If the amount is prorated due to emigrant status, a date of departure from Canada is required.
352 : Line 58040 on the provincial or territorial Form 428 for the basic personal amount does not equal to the maximum allowable:
1. If the amount is prorated due to immigrant status, a date of entry into Canada is required.
2. If the amount is prorated due to emigrant status, a date of departure from Canada is required.
However I already entered the date of entry into Canada but I am receiving the same message once again. Could somebody help me about this situation. Thank you!
I recommend that you call our helpline 1-800-452-9970 I do not have enough informations to answer

Can't open the link, asking for some corpotate ID
Same here, can't efile any new resident. We are getting Error code 184 and states:
352 : Line 58040 on the provincial or territorial Form 428 for the basic personal amount does not equal to the maximum
allowable:
1. If the amount is prorated due to immigrant status, a date of entry into Canada is required.
2. If the amount is prorated due to emigrant status, a date of departure from Canada is required.
We have put the date of entry and have marked for Prorate, no idea what else to do.
I already fixed this issue, I enter an amount of Foreign sourced income and it go through.
Enter foreign sourced income
Thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately 5 of clients have no foreign income, they are students.
I'm having the same issues indicated. I contacted CRA to ask for some guidance. They have said that it is a software issue as the provincial worksheet (428) isn't calculating the amounts. I brought up the AB428 (because my client lives in AB) and sure enough, it was blank. Was advised to manually calculate and enter but to no avail.

Hello fellow members.
Have you been able to open this posted by Mario, if yes please help as this is what happens when I click on it:
Anyone able to Efile without posting foreign income as our clients are new residents, students with no foreign income.
How do I correct an error CRA efile#352 - require date of entry in Profile. I have input the date of entry in the info section, when I use Efile eligibility in the Audit Section, it said eligible. When I efile the file, CRA do not accept it.
This error usually occurs if the prorate question in the residency section of the Info tab is overridden to yes. If the taxpayer had no foreign income in the non residency period as represented by an entry on line 52930, full non refundable credits are allowed. More information is available at this link.
We solved it our way, not perfect but worked and we were able to file all our returns.
We put $2 dollars as foreign sourced non-resident income (clients had nil foreign sourced income) and it was calculated properly, accepted by CRA. All our returns are accepted now.
