Learn how to fix a report that is too large to display in QuickBooks Online.
While running reports, you may see a message that says your report is too large to display. This happens when the report exceeds the size limits. Here’s how you can fix this.

Understand size limits when exporting a report to Excel
- Columns: maximum of 1,024
- Cells: maximum of 400K cells with data
- Data: maximum of 10 MB
Fix a report that is too large to display
Here are ways to fix a report that is too large to display.
- Open the report you want to fix.
- Drag the vertical line between the columns to adjust their width.
- Remove columns to display more data.
- Run reports for a specific date range using the Report period ▼ dropdown.
Note: If the report still doesn’t display all your data, you can export your reports to Excel.
Remove columns
- Open the report you want to view and edit.
- Select Customize.
- In the Rows/Columns section, select Change columns.
- Select columns. Uncheck the box for the column you want to remove.
- Select Run report.
- Select Save customization to save the report under custom reports.
