Fix a QuickBooks Time export error due to a new QuickBooks Desktop company file

After an export of hours from QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Desktop, you may receive an email from "QuickBooks Time Notification" (similar to the one below) saying that the timesheets were rejected by QBD.

This could be caused by you creating a new company file for the fiscal year, or by using a copied company file from last year for the current year. In this case, QuickBooks Time needs the new set of IDs that are associated with your QuickBooks Desktop account.

To fix this, uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks Desktop integration:

  1. In QuickBooks Time, go to Feature Add-ons, then select Manage Add-ons.
  2. Locate QuickBooks Desktop Integration, and select Uninstall.
  3. Make sure you're logged into your QuickBooks as the main admin and in single-user mode.
  4. Follow the steps  to integrate QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Desktop

Note: If you set up any custom assignments, for instance assigning certain customers to employees, or Custom Fields to certain customers, these assignments will be lost in the process.
