Add a note to a transaction in the QuickBooks mobile app (iOS only)

It's easy to include a note with an existing transaction in the QuickBooks mobile app. In this article, we'll show you the steps to do that using your iOS device.

iPhone

Here's how to add a note to an existing transaction on an iPhone.

1. From the Menu ☰, tap Sales & Get Paid, then tap Invoices, Estimates, Sales Receipts, or Invoice Payments (whichever has the transaction you want to attach a note to).
2. Select the transaction.
3. Tap Add notes or attachments.
   • To create a new note, tap Create Note. Write your note, then tap Save.
   • To attach an existing note, tap Attach Existing note. Select the note you want to attach, then tap Attach.
4. To see the attached note, tap Activity.

iPad

Here's how to add a note to an existing transaction on an iPad.

1. From the Menu ☰, tap Sales & Get Paid.
2. To select the type of transaction, tap Estimates, Invoices, Sales Receipts, or Invoice Payments from the dropdown ▼ menu.
3. Select the transaction you want to attach a note to.
4. Tap Add notes or attachments.
   • To create a new note, tap Create a note. Write your note, then tap Save.
   • To attach an existing note, tap Attach to attach it to an invoice, estimate, sales receipt, or payment. Find the note to attach in the list.
