The latest payroll tax table for QuickBooks Desktop provides payroll updates with the most current and accurate rates and calculations for supported provincial and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and EFILE options to active Payroll subscription customers.
The latest tax tables are only available in QuickBooks Desktop 2024 or QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions 24.0. You can review this article to learn how to download and install the 2024 version.
The current payroll tax table version is 12234003 on Quickbooks Desktop 2024.

Check your tax table version
You can check which version you have:
- From the Employees menu in QuickBooks, select My Payroll Service, then Tax Table Information.
- The first three numbers under You are using tax table version reflect your tax table version and should display as 12234003.
Reminder: Ensure you are using QuickBooks Desktop 2024 or QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions 24.0 in order to download the tax table update.
What's included in the current payroll tax table update
For the January 2026 tax table update, there are multiple TD1 changes from the July 2025 payroll tax table update.
Get the payroll tax table updates
If you subscribe to QuickBooks Payroll, you can set up automatic updates so that QuickBooks downloads payroll updates automatically as soon as they are available.
You can also download the latest payroll update anytime while in QuickBooks:
- Select Update QuickBooks from the Help menu.
- Select the Update Now tab.
- Select Get Updates.
- Select File, then Exit.
- Restart QuickBooks Desktop.
Note: There will be no web patch available for the 2026 tax table updates. They must be completed within the product.
Troubleshoot payroll update issues
Perform the following checks if your TD1 amounts are not updated after installing the latest tax table updates.
Is it on or after the tax table effective date?
If you downloaded tax table version 12234003 on or after December 18, 2025, you will not see the updated amounts until the tax table becomes effective January 1, 2026. After January 1, 2026, once you have downloaded the product update containing the new tax tables, you can check the amounts.
Have you had to manually adjust the TD1 amounts?
If you have ever manually updated the TD1 amounts for an employee (either in the past or after setting up a new employee), the new tax table will not override any previously adjusted amounts. You will need to manually update the TD1 amounts going forward.
Are any of your employees set up over the basic TD1 amounts?
QuickBooks Desktop will automatically update TD1 amounts only for those employees with the basic amounts for the previous tax tables.
