Change sales tax filing frequency in QuickBooks Online

Sales tax filing frequency is determined by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
If you'd like to change the filing frequency for your business, you'll have to get permission from the CRA. Visit Canada.ca to learn more.
Once your business has received permission from the CRA, follow the steps below to change your filing frequency in QuickBooks Online.
Change filing frequency
Note: The filing frequency can differ between federal and provincial returns. Ensure you are editing the correct filing frequency.
- Navigate to Taxes and select Sales tax (Take me there).
- Select Manage sales tax.
- Select Edit Agency Settings directly below Add tax.
- Select the new filing frequency from the drop-down menu in the Filing frequency field.
- Select Save to save the new filing frequency.
