Intuit Profile Tax. 2023T1
Files being created in Employees G Drive
all profile data is set to c:\users\username\documents\my profile data
Saving a new form is set to the above location
Why is it being created also in a seperate location on the G Drive?
Profile will save the file in the directory location that you choose when you save the file the first time.
However, if the directory is not locked (in the menu Option Environment File) when you save the file , and you are saving the file to a different location than the one setbvin Option- Environment- File, then the directory in option - environment - File, will be updated to the new location that you saved the file.
If the directory is locked, then the directory in Option - Environment - File will not be modified and next time you save a new file it will save to that directory.

Question.....
What do I do with the folders that were created seperately on the other drive? Do I moved them to the original spot?
if you want to have all your thing in the same location, you should set everthing on the same drive, otherwise, you will need to navigate the drive to get your files
With that said what I am asking and I do apologize if mispoke. The folders that already created in the other location from where it should be, is it safe to just move them to the main location?
If you want to have everything to the main location its totally fine. You can choose any location, and in the software itself, you can setup the location where you want to have your files in Options environment Files. Its recommended to keep all the file on the same location, because profile can only be set for one location at a time., hope this helps
