The "Adjust from snapshot" feature in the T3 module is producing incorrect line descriptions. I called Profile to report this bug and instead of acknowledging the issue, they continuously were gaslighting saying it is working as intended.
To see the issue:
- Open a 2024 T3 return
- Create a snapshot
- Navigate to the form "OtherIncome" and enter a random amount in line 19
- Navigate to "T3ADJ", right click the background, and Adjust from snapshot
After doing this, the following line descriptions are incorrect:
- 19: Profile has "Appartement"
- 42: Profile has "Total number of units"
- 46: Profile has "Subtract lines B and C from line A. Cryptoasset capital gain (or loss)"
- 50: Profile has "Total number of units"
- 84: Profile leaves blank
The Profile support person said to click on the dropdowns in the T3ADJ form and I can see other line descriptions could be incorrect if other lines in the return would have changed (a few examples would be to look at lines 21, 23, & 25 which all relate to address/phone, some of which are in French).
I know I can override the fields (which is what I have done). It is just frustrating that every time I report a bug to Profile, they immediately blame the user. As shown in the steps above, you can recreate this bug in less than a minute. I have used the "Suggestions" feature for other bugs in the past, yet those remain bugs in the program years later.
