the description says "care at home", but profile is giving the credit even for rent paid to a nursing home. is this correct?

An associate spoke with the CRA regarding this matter who referred them to Ontario publication 5006-PC. In it there is a section on the seniors care at home credit. It says that the claimable amount comes from the allowable Ontario medical expense claim which is the same as the Federal claim. There is no mention that the expenses must be for care at home. It looks like we should use nursing home expenses for this new credit. Actually all medical expenses claimed Federally should be claimed for this new Ontario credit. if the age and income test are met.
I copied their response from their email to me. See attached PDF
I would be interested to know the answer to this one. Profile? Is attendant care paid to a retirement home or nursing home claimable with respect to this credit?
Nobody has the answer?
I saw the same issue in Profile. Nursing home expenses are not for aging at home. I decided not to claim the Ont credit. I have spoken to two other accountants who agreed with me. So I did an over ride and entered NIL.
I have spoken to the Ont Ministry of Finance. They believe I am correct but have referred the matter to a specialist who will call me in several days.
Thank you. It doesn't seem logical with the name being a Care at Home credit, but the rules as outlined on Ontario's site don't specify you have to be at home. I don't want to not claim they are legally entitled to, but then again it doesn't make sense they qualify.

I just received a written response from Ontario's Ministry of Finance as to whether we can claim nursing home expenses for this new "seniors care at home" credit. They said yes we can as it doesn't matter what the type of residence the senior lives in.
thank you! are you able to post this response?
thx!
