ProFile Autoupdate not working.

Hi,

 

Working on behalf of a company that uses ProFile. They stopped receiving autoupdates a while ago leaving them behind on tax information. They can however manually update without issue.

They contacted ProFile support and had assistance. ProFile reported that this was an issue with an update and they sent a fix in April 2020. The company did not receive this information.

Judging by the steps outlines by this company.

Suggestion to change the folder permissions to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\AutoUpdateClient from read-only does not work as suggested here due to C:\ProgramData\Intuit being the parent folder and with inheritance set from the Intuit folder. Changing the permissions from read-only on C:\ProgramData\Intuit breaks all the licensing information on all Intuit products.

They have renamed the AutoUpdateClient folder to redownload with ProFile support. I'm not sure what else ProFile Support had done but they just stopped being responsible for this issue.

We have excluded the folder from our AV company wide as suggested in the previous link. Repair was done using GPSetup.

From what the company reports, they have removed and re-installed ProFile.

 

What are our next steps to solve this issue.
