Hello,
My client lives in Ottawa but works in Quebec and receives a T4 and an RL1. As far as I know, the only adjustment required is to add the Quebec income tax deduction to the T4 section in ProFile however the RL1 total income line is higher than the T4 line by the amount of the Private Health Insure Plan at box J on the RL1.
What is the correct way to report this?
Thanks,
Jared

Hello,
The difference between box 14 of T4 and box A of RL1 can be related to box J. Box J is the amount paid by the employer to a private plan and is a taxable benefit in Quebec. If you have an amount in Box J of the RL-1, ignore this amount as it is a taxable benefit that can be claimed as a medical expense in Quebec only, while for residents of other provinces/territories this amount cannot be claimed as a medical expense nor it's a taxable benefit and not included in box 14.

Amazing - thank you for the explanation!
Did you enter both the T4 and the Releve 1?
