My client got a letter of review from CRA regarding her dependent son for 2019. Apparently CRA did not receive a Schedule 5. I went back to the return in Profile and see that I filled in the information, so not sure why CRA doesn't have it.
Question: Can I re-file just the schedule 5 from Profile, if so, how do I do it? Not sure how to handle this situation.
This letter is part of CRA's regular review system. They want the Schedule 5 and probably the court order or agreement. Get the letter and have a read. You will need to print the Schedule 5 and if you have authorization you can upload the info to them with the number on the letter. Or the client can upload if they have My account at CRA
I don't think they have a court order or even an agreement. They lived common-law about 10 years ago and then broke up. She got the kid as he had addiction problems but there wasn't any legal agreement for this
that sometimes makes it tough....I would contact CRA and see what proof they would accept. Sometimes a letter from the school or doctor would suffice.
