I also tried to save the S14 as a pdf, but it still will not print the estimated benefit
Unfortunately, you're right, Schedule 14 prints only the upper part, but does not show the amount of the CAI. I've been simply manually writing the amounts on the T1 Summary, i.e., "$75 x 4, C.A.I." and explaining it to clients. It's a little time consuming, but so far I haven't found a better way of doing so.
A few weeks ago I brought up this issue here and sent a suggestion to Profile Development, hopefully it will be fixed by.. the next tax season!
ok, thanks for the reply. I screenshotted (is that even a word?) the page rather than writing it out and that seemed to work..
i have been using the personalize feature in the client letter and adding a line that shows what the cai will be and the payments. i then copy and paste for the next client but change the amount according to the schedule 14 info. a little time consuming but looks great! hope this helps. have a good year.
You will receive a climate action incentive credit of $330.00, payable in quarterly instalments of $82.50 in July and October 2022 and in January and April 2023.
I believe the July Payment is double
i haven't heard anything about that?
Info on Rev Can for this Climate Action Incentive Payment indicate that this is no longer paid on returns.
Entitlement through S14 will be assessed by Rev Can and will be paid quarterly starting July, 2022
This is from the CRA site:
If you’re entitled to receive the CAIP, you can expect to receive them on the 15th of April, July, October and January.
Once your 2021 Income Tax and Benefit return is processed and if you are entitled, the first payment will be issued on July 15, 2022 and will include a retroactive amount for April 2022.
yes, I have used the personalized letter for explaining the CAI, but someone emailed me so I wanted to show them the worksheet-it's only happened once in about 300 returns so far, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much...
great info. i wish the government had left it the way it was! a lot of upset people this year! thanks again for the info.
