Hello,
We have a client with a T1A Request for Loss Carryback to file. Does this efile with their return, or do we need to do anything specific to file it with their 2019 T1?
I am unsure how to determine what all gets Efiled with the T1.
Thank you.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
Chapter 1 of the CRA e-filer manual states: "Please inform your client that the
re-assessment(s) could take approximately ten weeks. For purposes of electronic filing, Form T1A, Request for Loss Carryback, does not have to be submitted in writing to the Canada Revenue Agency."
So, the T1A does not need to be mailed since the T1A information is sent with the T1 electronic filing
Hope this helps

Thank you. How do you determine what gets Efiled with the T1?
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
CRA produces an e-filer manual. Chapter 1 has information related to e-filing: information regarding the T1A can be found there. Chapter 2 has the CRA e-file errors. The manual can be found at the following link:
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/publications/rc4018.html
Hope this helps
The T1A gets filed electronically, with the return.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
Just to confirm, the T1A does get sent with the T1 filing: the T1A does not need to be mailed unless CRA asks to see the signed copy subsequent to filing.
Hope this helps
