Since we loaded the new version, the spooling to print is taking so long, even to print a single page, there seems to be a delay before it begins to show it is printing.
It is happening on all PC's in the office and only in Profile T1, is anyone else experience a delay before the printing starts?
Now that you mentioned it... yes, I had a problem with one tax return, there was a 20-30 second delay. Otherwise, there is a noticeable, 2-4 second delay.
i am experiencing the same.

Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
There are no general PDF printing issues. Computer setups are all unique so when individual computers have issues we follow steps to resolve issues. If they cannot be resolved they are escalated to our product development team for investigation. This escalation process take 1 to 2 business days since engineers are not available on weekends. The weekend staff has limited resources available. Your escalated issue will be handled on a priority basis when the engineers are available.
I apologize for this issue but we will follow up
My office is experiencing the same issue there is a long delay pause when sending to the printer or to the print to PDF. As per Duncan's first response to call the number I did and spoke to a really nice and helpful technician we troubleshooted a few options in my printers and ProFile. But in the end we could not fix.
*Just to note to the tech team the long delay is office wide so this is happening on multiple computers all with various brands of computers and printers. and to note when printing in T2019 and back they are just fine. the issue is just with T2020.
Im just putting this out there so that Intuit ProFile knows. Thanks
Using a timer, the delay was 4 seconds for a single-person return and 6 seconds for a coupled return.
The building of PDF's is so painful, I am so frustrated, I end up waiting about 1 - 2 minutes to build and half the time it craps out and I have to reboot Profile to get it to work. Last night, I was still working at 1:30 am, the only one on the server and I had to reboot over 20 times due to PDF issues. This software is not worth the time and hassle it is taking now. My production has been slowed down so much because of this software. I am sure Intuit has no interest in making our job easier, there focus is making sure our customers switch to Turbo Tax.
Yes i am having the same issues. Some wait times are as long as 15 seconds per form and at times even locks up. The other years work fine, just 2020. Very annoying and time consuming.
A few days ago I experienced a wait time of at least 30 seconds with one tax return-but it was an isolated incident. However, I find it quite annoying when printing just one form, that there is a delay of +/- 4 seconds-when I print several separate forms, it certainly adds up.
Building the PDF's are horrific, I can wait up to 2 minutes and then it craps out half the time and I have to shut down Profile and reopen, some files I have to do it 2 - 3 times before it will build the PDF. ( counted 178 in one day). It is pretty sad when it takes longer to print the file than it does to prepare it!!!
I can't tell you the hours spent waiting for Profile to print, and again as everyone is saying, it is only in 2020, but they refuse to fix it. We are in the peak of tax season and HOURS a day are wasted on printing. I have been with Profile for 26 years, this is the worst it has ever been. Each year it gets worse but this year tops everything. Intuit really does not care about Profile, their focus is Turbo Tax, they are trying to corner the market, even with our clients.
It will be my last year with Profile, they are slowing down my production and costing me thousands of dollars and just keep saying, we MAY fix it by the next update.. I doubt it will be done this tax season.
I feel the same. I was told it would be fixed in the last update and when it wasn't, I called again to be told it will be fixed for next season which to me, is un acceptable. I am the same as you, I spend more time waiting for it to print than to do the return - unreal !!
I can only imagine how you feel having such problems... that would drive me absolutely crazy!
I use the "Print/Email PDF" function sometimes, when I have to email taxes and forms to clients, but I did not notice any unusual problems or delays. However, when I printed mailing labels in January of this year, after a while I was getting 'garbage'. The same thing has happened, on many occasions, while printing T2 returns. Thus, I print them to a PDF file first and then print the PDF file, just to be on the safe side.
Hi, thank you using Intuit ProFile Community
I have checked and there are no investigations open for printing issues. Please contact us at 1-800-452-9970 for an agent to gather information such as log files for the product development team to investigate. I will admit it is a bit slow to create a 2020 T1 PDF but I cannot get it to freeze : if you can reproduce this to an agent we can investigate.
I apologize for the inconvenience
I have called support MANY times and they give me the same excuses and answers. They logged into my PC and they said I had to update windows, we spent about 4 hours updating 24 PCs and it did NOTHING. Then when I called again they said it was going to be fixed in the next update, which it wasn't. When I called again after the update and it did not fix ANYTHING, they said to run Profile as Administrator and that would fix it but instead I could not access or open any of the files on the server while in Admin mode. I have spent HOURS with support only to be told it would be fixed in the next update.
We have 24 PC's on the server and the issue is with every 2020 file, no other years just 2020, so obviously the software. So calling support did nothing !!!!!
I have called twice for this issue. The first call I was told it was going to be fixed in the next update (last week's update) and when it wasn't, I called again to be told this time it would be addressed in the next tax season. I can give you the dates I called if needed.
still a problem for me and also for others can you add and further comments of fix. I have called over 5 times. Problem is intermittant and while your staff says they can make it better. It never is . Give me a call we can chat and demonstrate the issue.
I agree, production is suffering and Profile keeps talking but no real fixes.
They told me the same thing...
I am having the same issues with the delays in printing-it is only in the 2020 tax year as anything 2019 and before prints fine-this is ridiculous....
Yes I am also having the same issues as well as when ever I print out any schedules or forms it will print out a blank page. is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix
