I have "Yes" selected for "Did the taxpayer electronically sign the T183". When I try to enter the date and timestamp on the T183 from the e-signature, the date disappears as soon as I tab off or click elsewhere on the return. Timestamp stays as entered.
Can't use prepare sign-off on the date and EFILE, I get an EFILE error.
CRA Result Code: 132 : Missing or Incomplete Information.
The Canada Revenue Agency was unable to process your return. The transmission contains invalid or missing data:
EFILE Identification Field(s)
T183 Electronic Signature Indicator
T183 Electronic Signature Date
T183 Electronic Signature Time
Please make the necessary corrections and try again.
Anyone else having this issue?
Can't use the client explorer build EFILE option now either, since we have to manually enter the date and time on the T183 for every return e-signed. A lot of extra work - and currently not working at all!
Hi, that you for using Intuit ProFile Community
Unfortunately the date and time are required by CRA for an electronically signed T183. The date and time from the client signed T183 must be entered before e-filing. Try clearing the CRA errors before making entries on the T183. If that does not work, save the return, display the T183 in ProFile, then select clear form from the form menu. The T183 we need to be completed including the E-signature question at the top of the form.
I apologize for the inconvenience but hope this helps
Hello Profile Team,
Please allow signing date and time to be entered automatically when someone esigns it (without Docusign). I believe TaxCycle just added this feature.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile community
If you clears the form T183 you will generate a new DCN which would require new signatures and date/time. The date and time cannot be automatically generate by ProFile because they need to be entered by the T183 signer when they sign.
Note: There is an investigation for an issue regarding locked returns. If the e-sign T183 is printed and then the return locked, after un-locking the time is retained but the date is not. The recommendation at this time is to not lock a return until all information is entered into the file.
I apologize for the inconvenience
Why do we have to enter the date and time on the T183 if CRA only requires that we have support documents showing the date/time stamp? Having to go back into Profile to enter the date/time on the T183 is extremely time consuming when we are doing 800+ returns. Is there a way to bypass that step? We use Docusign and have the backup for the date/time if CRA needs it.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile
The requirement is to enter the date and time for an electronically signed T183 in ProFile before e-filing the return. CRA will then be able to confirm the date and time on any signed T183 they request with that filed with the return.
If the time cannot be retained, signoff the error#1320 in the auditor: this should allow the date to be retained.
I apologize for the inconvenience but hope this helps
