If a full time student has received only scholarships during the year, is the student considered to have no income? As I keep getting a question from the auditor function, saying that the student's income is zero and is this correct? The student did have income, it is not taxable - is the auditor considering that to be the same ?
Do you have a T4A for the scholarship income? If so, you need to record it on the T4A form, near the bottom where it says "Eligible for full-time education amount". The auditor should then know they have income, even though it is not taxable. Otherwise, just ensure you have ticked "yes" to the question "Is taxpayer's income zero?" on the Info screen.
Ok- yes I had the T4A, but when I entered it, I didn't have the T2202 yet, - now I do. I just don't remember having to indicate that on the info screen, in prior years. I'll double check my screens for the T4A and T2202 and make sure that I didn't miss entering anything.
Thanks for your help
