Learn how to view the status of an employee's direct deposit paycheck.
Wondering if you sent payroll on time? Be confident your employees will get paid on payday. Here's how to see which step your direct deposit is on.
Check the status of a direct deposit paycheck
- Go to the Employees menu and select View Payroll Run Status.
- In the Recent payrolls section, select a payroll.
- Select the View Payroll Run Status drop-down and then Selected payroll. You'll see the status of the paycheck on the Payroll status window.
About the payroll statuses
Sent to Intuit. We received your payroll and we're processing it.
Sent to Bank. We sent the debit request to your bank account. Your employees will get their direct deposit the next business day.
Payroll processed. We debited your account and sent the payroll to your employees' banks.
About payroll status errors
Debit request declined. This is usually due to insufficient funds in your bank account. We'll try to debit the money again 24 hours after the first attempt. Add funds to your account and wait for us to try again. Your payroll service will be placed on hold while we do this. This hold can take up to 5 business days.
Debit request rejected. This can happen for a few reasons.
- Insufficient funds
- The account is closed
- Invalid account number
- Unable to locate account
Important: If you get a payroll status error, the principal on the account will receive an email. Refer to that email for next steps. Your service will be placed on hold until we clear this up. Learn more about insufficient funds and your payroll service.
