About Declined Monthly Payments
by Intuit• Updated 2 months ago
If sending has been suspended on your account because of a declined payment, we know you're ready to resolve the issue and get back to work.
In this article, you'll learn what happens when a payment is declined, and what you need to do to get your account up and running again.
How can I tell if my monthly payment has been declined?
When a monthly payment is declined, we're obligated to immediately suspend sending for that account until the issue has been resolved.
Here are a few ways we'll alert you when there's a problem with your payment.
- A notification email with instructions on how to restart the account sent to the billing contact email address for your account.
- A notification on your Account Overview page.
- A notification flag on affected automations on the Campaigns page.
- A warning in the email builder.
Why did this happen?
There are a few reasons your payment may have been declined. Most often, payments are declined because the card is expired or the credit limit on the card has been reached.
Our system tells us when a card is declined, but doesn't tell us why. If you believe your card was declined in error, you'll need to contact your bank or card provider.
What should I do next?
To get your account up and running again, you'll need to repurchase your monthly plan. It's also a good idea to review and update your billing contact information.
Then, restart any automations and send any marketing emails that were scheduled to go out while sending was suspended on your account.
Purchase a plan
The first thing you'll need to do is purchase a plan.

Resume automated emails
Any time sending is suspended on an account, we pause all automated emails, including RSS automations. After you've updated your billing information and repurchased a paid plan, you can resume your paused emails.

Send missed emails
If you had regular emails scheduled to go out during the time sending was suspended on your account, you'll need to either send or reschedule those to make sure they get delivered to your subscribed contacts.
