Find out how to fix issues when you use online banking in QuickBooks for Mac.
Bank Feeds lets you connect your bank to QuickBooks. If you can't download transactions or run into errors, don't worry. We have tips on how to fix them.
Make sure:
- You backup your QuickBooks company file.
- Your computer is connected to the internet.
- You have the latest release of QuickBooks installed.
- You can sign in successfully to your bank’s website.
- Your bank didn’t report a server outage.
- Your account info (like account number and routing number) in QuickBooks is correct.
Solution 1: Make sure the financial institutions list is up-to-date
While this list is updated with the latest release, sometimes the list doesn't update correctly. When the list doesn’t update automatically, follow these steps to manually update it.
- Delete the fidir.txt file from these two locations:
- Location 1
- Go to Go, then hold the Control key and select Library.
- Go to Application Support/com.intuit.QuickBooks20XX/Downloads (change the ‘XX’ to match your version of QuickBooks.
- Drag the fidir.txt file to the Trash.
- Location 2
- Go to Go, then select Applications.
- Hold the Control key, then select your QuickBooks version.
- Select Show Package contents.
- Go to Contents then Resources.
- Drag the fidir.txt file to the Trash.
- Location 1
- Select your version of QuickBooks below to save an up-to-date fidir.txt file. To save, hold the Control key when you select the link.
- Go to Go:
- Hold the Control key and select Library.
- Copy and paste the new fidir.txt file to Application Support/com.intuit.QuickBooks20XX/Downloads
- Go to Go:
- Select Applications then hold the Control key and select your QuickBooks version.
- Select Show Package contents.
- Go to Contents.
- Copy and paste the new fidir.txt file to the Resources.
- Try to download transactions again.
If this doesn’t fix the issue, continue to solution 2.
