Make sure you have a stable internet connection, a fully charged card reader, and a mobile device with the latest version of the app before you do these steps.
- Open and sign in to your GoPayment or QuickBooks Online mobile app.
- Tap Settings, then Card Reader.
- Connect your card reader.
Note: If it won’t connect, hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off the device. Wait for 10 seconds and turn on the device, then try to connect again.
- In the My Readers section, your reader displays “Reader update available” if it needs a firmware update. Tap it to continue.

- Tap Software Update.
Note: The update should take 5 minutes to complete. Don’t perform any other activity on your mobile device while the firmware update is running.

- After the update is complete, you can exit the Settings menu and use your reader to take payments.
