Access Your Saved Email Templates
by Intuit• Updated 2 months ago
When you save an email template, there are two ways to access it in your Mailchimp account. You can find it on the Email templates page, or you can choose it in the email builder.
In this article, you'll learn how to access your saved email templates in Mailchimp.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- This article explains how to access saved email templates. For information about using a template to create a new email or for help editing a saved template, check out Save and Use an Email Template. For information on creating an email template, read Create an Email Template.
- Changes to custom-coded templates will be reflected in existing draft emails created from the template.
- Templates designed using the new email builder or the classic email builder can be accessed in the corresponding builder only. This means you can’t use a new builder template in the classic email builder or vice versa.
Access from the Email templates page
To access your saved templates from the Email templates page, follow these steps.
- In the Content section of the Mailchimp dashboard, click Email templates.
- Find the template you want to work with. Click the Sort by drop-down to sort your templates alphabetically or by last edited. You can also search for the name of a specific template.
- Click on the template you want to work with to open it in the template builder. Or, click the Edit drop-down to choose another action.
If you're working with a custom-coded template or a classic drag-and-drop template, click the drop-down menu to choose another action.

- In the Content section of the builder, click Edit Design or Resolve.
- Click the Template drop-down, then choose Switch templates.
- On the Change templates page, click the Saved templates tab.
- Click on the template you want to use.
