Onboard a client and create a close in Intuit Accountant Suite
by Intuit•3• Updated 6 days ago
In this video, we'll review Books close settings and walk through how to onboard a client and create additional closes.
Overview
Use the Books Close feature in Intuit Accountant Suite to manage your clients' month-end closing procedures efficiently. Assigning a client to a predefined template ensures consistency and helps track progress.
Prerequisites
- Only the primary and company admins have default access to onboard a close client. Your firm can provide this access to other team members by editing access control settings for Books Close.
- Before you onboard a client, you'll need to have created a default close template. Learn more at Set up Books Close templates.
Onboard a client and create a close
In Intuit Accountant Suite:
- Go to All Apps
, then Books Close, then Overview (Take me there). - Select Onboard close client.
- In the Onboard close client window, select the Client dropdown and choose the client you want to onboard.
- Select the Close template dropdown and choose the template you want to assign to this client.
- Select the team member(s) who will be assigned to manage this client's close process. If you've set up multiple assignees for the chosen template, the team members selected will automatically be filled in for the tasks assigned to that role in the template.
- Select the Period dropdown and choose the closing timeframe you want to set up.
- Select Save to finish onboarding, or select Save and start close to begin the closing process for the selected period immediately.
The client is now assigned to the selected Books Close template for the specified period. Assigned team members can begin working on the closing tasks.
Create additional closes
You can create additional closes for other time periods from Books close overview.
- Select Create close.
- On the Create close panel, confirm the client.
- Select Period
and choose the time period for the new close. - Select Save. You'll see an additional line for the new close on the overview page.
