Authorize QuickBooks as your Iowa unemployment Third Party Agent

Learn how to authorize QuickBooks to act as your payroll agent in Iowa (IA).

When you set up your new payroll service, or when you add a new employee in IA, you need to authorize us as your payroll agent with the state.

Iowa requires you to do this through their website. Once you do, we'll be able to send electronic payments and forms on your behalf through any of our payroll products. This takes just a few minutes to complete.

Note: Not sure which payroll service you have? Here's how to find your payroll service.
  1. Log in to your myIowaUI Account.
  2. Select Assign Agent.
  3. You’ll be prompted to enter QuickBooks Agent ID.  Enter the following for your payroll product:
    • QuickBooks Online Payroll: R2404337
    • QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted: R2378230
  4. Select the following to assign the account roles.
    • Manage Payments 
    • Submit/ChangeWage Detail 
    • View Correspondence
    • View Transaction History 
  5. Select Complete.

Once you complete these steps, QuickBooks will accept the roles and submit your enrollment information to the agency.
