Connect or Disconnect Square by Mailchimp

Square by Mailchimp syncs your Square customer, order, and product information to a selected Mailchimp audience. Once the initial sync is complete, you can use this information to send targeted email marketing campaigns and grow your audience.
In this article, you’ll learn how to connect or disconnect Square by Mailchimp.
Before you start
Here are a few things to know before you begin this process.
- You’ll need a Square account to use this integration.
- If you have already connected your Square and Mailchimp accounts using Square: Shoppable Landing Pages, you’ll need to disconnect that integration before you add Square by Mailchimp. This is a multi-step process. Check out Switch from Square: Shoppable Landing Pages for more information.
- Square by Mailchimp syncs Square data across all locations to your Mailchimp audience.
Connect Square by Mailchimp
To install the integration, you'll need to connect your Square account to Mailchimp and choose the audience you want to sync with Square.
To connect your Square account to Mailchimp, follow these steps.
- Navigate to Square by Mailchimp.
- Click Log in with Mailchimp.
- Enter your username and password and click Log In.
- Review the permissions request, then click Allow.
- Click Log in with Square.
- Enter your username and password and click Sign In.
- If desired, set up 2-factor authentication; otherwise, click Continue to Square.
- Review the permissions request, then click Allow.
- Use the drop-down to choose the audience to which your Square data will be synced, and then click Continue to map fields.
- Set up your field mappings. Note that

Email address`
is the only required field mapping and is automatically selected.- Click Add a mapping to add new fields. Use the Square drop-down to select a Square field, and then use the Mailchimp drop-down to choose the Mailchimp field to which the field data will be mapped. For example, you can map information in the Square field

. - Click the Trash can icon to delete a mapping.
- Click Add a mapping to add new fields. Use the Square drop-down to select a Square field, and then use the Mailchimp drop-down to choose the Mailchimp field to which the field data will be mapped. For example, you can map information in the Square field
- When you’re finished mapping fields, click Continue to sync.
- You’ll see a progress screen that shows you the status of your sync. When the sync is complete, you’ll see a success message. Click Go to dashboard to see integration details.
Nice! Once your accounts are connected, your Square data continues to sync to Mailchimp automatically.

Once you’ve connected your accounts, navigate to the Square by Mailchimp page to view the details of the integration.
Note: If you need to log in, be sure to use the same credentials you used to create the integration.
Once you’re signed in, you can view the integration dashboard and logs, manage your account settings, and launch recommended Mailchimp actions like creating an automation or sending an email campaign. You can also log out or disconnect the integration.
Disconnect Square by Mailchimp
To disconnect Square by Mailchimp, follow these steps.
- On the Square by Mailchimp menu, click Settings.
- Scroll to Disconnect. Select Delete Store Data at Mailchimp to remove product and order data from Mailchimp or leave it clear to keep your Square product and order data on Mailchimp. Click Disconnect from Square and Mailchimp.
- Click Disconnect to confirm.
