Customize Mailchimp for Salesforce

After you connect Mailchimp for Salesforce, you can customize the app to display Mailchimp data in Salesforce, and grant team members access to key features. Quickly view subscriber activity and campaign statistics with customized page layouts.

Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- Make sure you've successfully connected and set up Mailchimp for Salesforce.
- You’ll need to have opted to keep and sync all activity before you start the customization process. If you’ve chosen to sync only subscriber data or if you chose not to sync any data between your Mailchimp and Salesforce accounts, your customization may not display data properly. - You’ll need to have turned data syncing on. Learn more at Connect Your Mailchimp Account to Salesforce.
- Mailchimp for Salesforce does not interact with Salesforce reports.
Customize page layouts
To display Mailchimp data in Salesforce, like campaign activity, subscription status, and subscriber profile information, click and drag custom components to different sections of your Lead and Contact Layouts.
Take a look at this table for the components and the Mailchimp data they display in Salesforce. These components are available for both Lead and Contact Layouts.
Component | Available Mailchimp Data |
---|---|
Mailchimp Membership | A collection of subscriber data including group membership and campaign activity. |
Subscriber | A collection of subscriber data including contact activity rating and subscriber profile. |
Subscriptions | A collection of subscriber data including a Mailchimp subscriber's associated groups and segments. |
Access Page Layouts
You can choose components for both your Lead and Contact Layouts. You'll edit both of these in the Page Layouts section of your Salesforce account.
To access your Page Layouts, follow these steps.
- Log in to your Salesforce account.
- In the Salesforce navigation panel, click Setup.
- Under Build, click the arrow next to Customize.
- Click the arrow next to Leads or Contacts.
- Click Page Layouts.
Now you're ready to customize your lead and contact pages to display Mailchimp data in Salesforce.
Customize contact layout
From Page Layouts, you can edit your Contact Layout to display Mailchimp data on each contact's page. You'll drag components from the Fields, Buttons, and Visualforce Pages sections at the top of the page and drop them into different areas of your Contact Layout. Components are optional, and you can choose which ones you want to include in your layout to best fit your needs.
To add each component to your Contact Layout, follow these steps.
- Click Edit next to Contact Layout.
- In the left panel, click Visualforce Pages.
Note : SubscriberContact and SubscriptionsContact are not recommended for Visualforce components. - Individually click and drag MembershipContact to the Contact Detail section.
- Click Save.
Customize lead layout
In the same way that you customized your Contact Layout, you can edit your Lead Layout to display Mailchimp data as well.
To add each component to your Lead Layout, access Page Layouts, and follow these steps.
- Click Edit next to Lead Layout.
- In the left panel, click Visualforce Pages.
Note: SubscriberLead and SubscriptionsLead are not recommended for Visualforce components. - Individually click and drag MembershipLead to the Lead Detail section.
- Click Save.
