Verify your bank account for payroll
by Intuit•39• Updated 1 month ago
Learn how to verify a test transaction made to your bank account to activate direct deposit or e-pay and e-file services.
When you connect your bank account in QuickBooks Payroll, we run a test deposit of less than $1.00 to make sure we can process your direct deposits or tax payments with your bank.
Follow the steps below to verify your bank account info. If you have successfully connected your bank through Instant Bank Verification, you don’t need to do these steps.
Step 1: Look for the test transaction amount
The test transaction amount of less than $1.00 will be posted to your bank account within 2-3 banking days, after setting up your bank account in QuickBooks Online Payroll and QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
Check your bank account statement or contact your bank for the test transaction amount.
Step 2: Enter the test transaction amount
Once you have the test transaction amounts ready, log in to your QuickBooks Payroll as a Primary admin or Master admin. Then enter the test transaction amount without the decimal point. Any user with Admin access can enter the test transaction amount and activate the direct deposit and e-pay and e-file services.
Note: Not sure which payroll service you have? Here's how to find your payroll service. |
Once your bank account info is verified, you can pay your employees by direct deposit.
