Learn how to view your employees’ historical employment changes in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

The History tab provides a record of changes made to an employee's profile. Use this info to make informed decisions about future changes.

View your employee history

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. Select the History tab.

What the History tab tracks

The History tab tracks changes made from March 1, 2025, onwards. This includes:

  • Base pay
  • Job title
  • Employment status
  • Hire date
  • Department
  • Legal name
  • Mailing address
  • Home address
  • Manager
