Learn how to run a customized report of your sales and member contributions in QuickBooks Online.
In QuickBooks Online, you can run a report that shows the breakdown of your sales or contributions for each customer, donor, or member. This report can help your business track sales.
Run a sales and member contributions report
To create a customized sales and member contributions report, follow these steps.
Step 1: Generate the report
- Go to Reports
and select Standard reports (Take me there). - In the For my accountant section, select Transaction Detail by Account.
Tip: You can also search for Transaction Detail by Account from the Type report name here
dropdown and select it from the list. - Select the Report period
dropdown, then select your preferred date range.
Tip: You can also use the From and To fields if you want to set a specific date range. - Select Cash for the Accounting method, then select Customize. This opens the Customize pane.
- Select Filters, then select the Filter by
dropdown. Select Account from the list. - Select the Condition
dropdown, then select equals. - Select the Value
dropdown, then select all your income accounts.
Note: You can select multiple items from the list. - Select Multiple to close the list when you’re done.
- Select the Groups
dropdown, then select the Group by
dropdown. - Select Customer or Customer (with sub-customers) if you want to show the sub-customers in the report.
- Select Apply changes.
Step 2: Email, print, or export the report
- Email the report:
- Select the Email icon
. This opens the Send Transaction Detail by Account window. - Fill out the To, Cc (optional), and Subject fields.
- In the Format field, select the file type (Excel, CSV, or PDF) for your report.
- Enter your message in the Message field.
- Enter your preferred file name in the FileName field.
- Select Send email.
- Select the Email icon
- Print the report:
- Select the Print icon
. This opens the Print or save as PDF window. - Select your preferred print settings from the dropdown lists, then select any other fields as needed.
- Select Save as PDF if you want to save a copy on your computer. Otherwise, select Print if you want to print it right away.
- Select the Print icon
- Export the report:
- Select the Export icon
. - Select either Export to Excel, Export to PDF, or Export as CSV. This automatically downloads and saves a copy of the report to your computer.
- Select the Export icon
