Learn how to fix the error, 1646 installing quickbooks.msi uninstallation of the update package is not supported.

You might see this error when you install QuickBooks if there's already another edition of the same year installed. This only happens when you try to install QuickBooks Premier or Accountant when you already have another edition installed.

Install QuickBooks Desktop again

You'll need to install the edition of QuickBooks that's on your system already, again. When you do this, QuickBooks will create new install folders and fix any issues.

  1. Install QuickBooks again.
  2. Install QuickBooks Premier or Accountant.
