Account management
It's our top priority to secure and keep your account safe, @EH in CT. I'm here to share some contact resources that you can rely on to prevent fraudulent cases like this.
Nowadays, fraud is a common occurrence, so I appreciate you expressing this concern to us so that we can promote awareness among the other users in this forum. Please be aware that Intuit will only get in touch with you if you request a callback from our Support over a problem with QuickBooks. It's good to know that the fraudulent individual hadn't taken anything from you.
For any QuickBooks Desktop concerns, you can reach us through the contact details in this article: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support. Moreover, you can post here in the Community, and we'll be pleased to help you with any QuickBooks-related questions.
On the other hand, since you're not sure whether an email came from Intuit, you can look for the following signs to validate it:
- We’ll never ask for your personal info in an email.
- Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com.
- Any link we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address.
If you receive an Intuit email you need clarification on, see our security notices for details of suspicious emails declared by other customers. I also encourage you to report the suspicious email to our Intuit Security team by emailing spoof@intuit.com.
Furthermore, I recommend browsing this article for you to easily recognize official Intuit correspondence and websites: Identify Suspicious Activity, Phishing Scams, and Potential Fraud.
Please know that I'm just a reply away if you have any other questions about this concern or with QuickBooks. I'm always here to back you up. Stay safe!
