I purchased Quickbooks online and can not move from desktop. I have discovered desktop is registered under another email and can't connect the two. How to fix this?

It's nice to see you here posting in the Community forum, @meggarsmom.
Having a different email address on QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and QuickBooks Online (QBO) is not a problem as long as upon conversion, you'll be entering your QBO credentials.
To import your QBDT company file to QBO, here's what you'll need to do:
- Get your desktop file ready like making sure that QuickBooks is up-to-date and checking the company file if it isn't too big to export.
- Import your desktop file to QBO.
- Make sure your books match.
