Employees and payroll
Hi there, weinsteinchiro91.
Let me get the help you need with your payroll concern.
The deduction on your employee's paychecks depends on the information on their W4. To verify why the social security taxes are not calculated correctly, I recommend checking the employees W4 information. This is to ensure that the affected employees have the correct tax information, including their filing status, allowances, and any additional withholding amounts.
To do this, here's how:
- In the left menu, click Payroll.
- Go to the Employees tab.
- Locate and select the employee with the incorrect employee social security.
- Go to the Tax withholding section and click on Edit.
- From there, double check the W-4 information of the employee.

For future reference, here's a great resource to help you close out your current year and prepare for the new year in QuickBooks with your accountant: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.
Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back.
